Built-in technologies, including Paper Weight and Multi-Feed Detection sensors, keep the system running smoothly by minimizing the possibility of incomplete fusing, paper jams and blank sheet misfeeds.
Paper Weight Detection sensors compare the weight of the first sheet fed with the paper weight setting input by the user. If a mismatch is detected, the system will stop and notify the operator. Ensuring proper settings contributes to final output quality and helps keep the system in optimal condition as it reduces the possibility of damage.
Multi-Feed Detection sensors compare the paper weight of the foregoing and following sheet. If the paper weight should jump significantly from one to the other, the machine will sense the multi-feed, and printing will automatically stop. This reduces the chance of misprint and prevents blank sheets from getting mixed within the final print run.
For commercial printers who frequently produce jobs with high toner coverage on thin paper and paper with long grain, the optional Paper Decurler Unit is available.

All front-loading paper trays feature an LED light indicating which tray is in use. This allows users to easily refill another paper tray while the unit is still in operation.
